About

We want you to have the confidence and skills you need to place an IV in anyone.

Independent Vascular Educators (ivE), PLLC, was created in 2022 by Tami Johnson and Rebekah Morrell. We are board-certified vascular access nurses with over 40 years of combined experience.
We created ivE to make the IV placement process easier for patients and providers using a standardized in-person training program that travels to hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics throughout the US.
More than 380 million IVs are placed annually in the US, making it the most common invasive procedure performed in healthcare. Chronic illness, obesity, kidney disease, tattoos and other factors make IV access difficult to achieve.
IV placement is usually performed with a blind stick approach, similar to driving a car while blindfolded. This leads to low first stick success rates and high failure rates prior to completion of treatment.  For patients, veins are not a renewable resource. Financial waste due to these inefficiencies costs millions.
An ultrasound machine allows staff to visualize the vessel when placing the IV, removing the blindfold and eliminating the guesswork. Health care providers require training to use ultrasound machines effectively in this new way.
We have streamlined our training program based on our past mentoring experiences, giving providers the confidence and skills needed to place an IV in anyone.
